Dr. Brisman has a passion for helping patients find innovative solutions for their acoustic neuromas. He has successfully treated hundreds of AN patients during the 23 years he’s been in practice on Long Island in New York. During this presentation, he will discuss the presentation and diagnosis of acoustic neuroma, including tumor anatomy, as well as available treatment options, including observation, surgery, and radiosurgery. Dr. Brisman's presentation will include a focus on stereotactic radiosurgery and a Q&A period following the discussion.
After receiving his undergraduate degree with high honors in Biology from Harvard University, neurosurgeon Michael H. Brisman, M.D., F.A.C.S., obtained his medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. He then completed a General Surgery internship and Neurological Surgery Residency at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City where he was appointed Chief Resident in his final year of residency.
Board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Brisman specializes in the treatment of acoustic neuromas, pituitary tumors, and other primary brain tumors, in addition to trigeminal neuralgia and related facial pain conditions.
He has served as Co-Director of the Neuroscience Institute at NYU Langone Long Island and is the Co-Medical Director of the Long Island Gamma Knife® Center at Mount Sinai South Nassau in Oceanside, NY.
