I'll tell you family,  this thread is calming all the fears and misgivings I have had about adopting a young puppy at Dr Love's and my age and with my headaches and level of physical disablity. Thank you so much for all your stories, I have really enjoyed each and every one of them.  More pictures please! They are great. And fie on those people in Gennysmom's story and yay for the good samaritans. Love Headcase's Snowball Dog!

Puppy hugs,

Ok, tried to add a picture here, and darned if I can figure out how.... I need someone's technical knowledge...  I should probably ask my 5 year old - she could probably figure it out faster than I could...

Set up an account here: http://photobucket.com/ , It's free. upload the images from your 'puter onto your photobucket site, then under the pic will be 4 boxes to choose from. Click on the bottom box (IMG code) and paste the code into the text of your reply message. It will come up as code, but will appear as a picture once you post it. You don't need to click on the picture icon (on the reply message) or anything. Photobucket does it for you.

Headcase,
Is Elvis an American Eskimo?  My dog is a little bigger, not quite as white, has a little red in her white fur, she is American Eskimo mixed with golden retriever,  I'll try to post a pic.   And BTW, who's sexy leg is that....LOL

OMG Lori, great pic by the way, but when I scrolled down to it, it gave me quite a jolt!  Your golden looks like my first golden, Ginger.  She was the perfect dog and was always there for me when I came home from my surgery.  I had to put her down just last year and boy it was a really tough time.  They are such sweet dogs and the two I have now follow me all through the house and sleep with me at night!  Deb, you are going to do just fine, but I still think you should be thinking in pairs  :-X  Just think, when you can't entertain because of a headache, they can entertain each other  ;)

Oh, great idea Deb!  Get two puppies - then you can get a male and name him Schooner!  Lab puppies are always so calm and docile...ha ha.  I had a lab mix years ago and she was nuts from day one until the day we had to put her down when she was 16 years old.  But her personality more than made up for her doggie ADHD.  She was also thrown out of a moving car onto the side of a busy road when she was about 8 weeks old.  I can't believe people can do that.

My sister assures me that my golden will definitely be going to heaven - after putting up with the kids - it's the least she deserves.  She gets used as a pillow, a step stool, a couch...she has clothes put on her, barrettes put in her hair, mardi gras beads...she gets poked in the eyes, her ears pulled.. and she just sits there with her tail and whole back end wagging and follows the kids around all day.  She has a lot more patience than I do!
