Trudging off to the MRI lab for another scan - tedious.
Having techs play pin the tail on the donkey with your veins - outrageous.
Spending a day getting one hour of testing done - ridiculous.
Getting a phone call from Dr. Brackmann saying "still small" - priceless.

Good news, Marie, I hope it stays that way. :)

Hearing lasted a while, but left side is deaf now.
Right side is weak too. Life is quiet.

Hi Marie,

Sorry to hear about you bad experience.  I go for my 3rd MRI in Jan of 09.  Mine is at 8 by 8 by 12, still considered small but reminds me everyday that it (my kids have named it "billyjean") is there every day.   Keep strong.

Mariie,

Steve did a great job summing up your awful experience very well.

I'm happy for you W&W is still a viable option.  May you have many more years of the same (not the MRI day, just the snail-pace growth)!

Very well said, Steve.
Thank you all .  I'm back on a more level plane now.  Had to turn my attention to re-renting houses.

Just had my 3rd MRI with no issues but I always opt out of the contrast and the 12 X 12 mm brat seems to show up just fine.

My physician says he prefers no contrast.  Says the CSF is the "contrast" and he showed me how easy it is to see the tumor against the fluid.  Guess it depends on the physician.

Hi Marie,

Glad to hear that it is still small, I had a tougher time with my thrid MRI,  I found the first two a breeze but my third harder.  I think it is because my symptoms have gotten worse.  But I would rather be on watch and wait then have surgery.

Take care

I figured out how to quit worrying about A N s.   Starting a few days after Thanksgiving, 2008:
  1. Get a virus that leaves one with head congestion for more than a month
  2. Start taking blood pressure medications that cause weird side-effects
  3. Have an ice storm roll in that leaves every tree damaged or totally ruined, cuts off the electricity for 5 days---no heat, no cell phone, no computer, trees down
in driveway, so couldn't get out.  I did have warm clothes and blankets, have a fireplace, was able to light my gas cooktop with a match.
  4. Have  bad tenant problems.  (They left their cat locked in the house without food and water!  I've never had that happen before--have only seen it on tv.)

Marie,
I can certanly see how all of the above would distract you from your AN issues.  How are things now and how is the cat.  You should report your tenants to the ASPCA.  Were you able to get in their apartment and give the poor thing food and water?

We called Animal Control and they put a notice on the door and fed and watered the cat for a few days.  Someone got the cat before the time limit so I think it was probably the former tenant.  They had left the back door unlocked.

I'm changing blood pressure meds.

Most of the damaged trees have been cleared up, pulled to the curb, and are being removed.  Taking care of the tree damage sure costs a lot of money!  I did have some good luck with this:  my personal home didn't sustain any damage.

Everything is gradually getting back to normal.
