I really want to go to Chicago but it is my 50th birthday (did I really just say 50?) on August 15 and I'm not sure I can swing it.  Of course, one can celebrate a week earlier or later, right?  I mean, that's not bad etiquette, is it?  Working on this one....

I want me a Rasta Hat steve!!! ya Mon! I'm growin me dreads as we speak!

Also a shout out to anyone going to a Walmart! go by the accessory area and check out the bandannas. They are usually 99 cents. I found scads of them wiv skulls and crossbones last year and bought all of them I could find. The pink ones were the best!  Then I cleaned out the sale table at Claire's when they put the pirate earrings on sale for 1/2 price.  C'mon if we're all going to go around walking like drunken sailors, we might as well look like them!

Dave & I are tentively (SP? that doesn't look right) planning on coming if it works out with everyone's schedules and we still have FREE airline tickets by then.  I have never been to Chicago so this seems like a perfect opportunity to scope it out!!    ;D

Yeah, Marci, just think of all the swell presents we can knit you - I mean give you - for your birthday. We can have a cake! A chocolate and beer birthday cake!

A chocolate and beer birthday cake!

A chocolate and beer cake, or chocolate cake and beer?

I was wondering the same thing myself  ???

Perhaps Steve has a special recipe he'd like to share with us  ???

I could make one up - I guess if we drank enough beer before we ate the cake, we wouldn't care, but that is really not fair to Marci!!   ;D  I don't usually drink that much beer anyway!

Marci, I turn 50 at about the same time - I'm thinking a trip to Chicago would be the perfect way to celebrate!  Would really love to meet everyone - especially in Pirate mode!

...what does one do at a "symposium" (besides drink a bit)... is it geared toward the medical field, the patients, both???  Just curious - think I'm sold on it no matter what the topic!

Wow! What a list we've started:

Jan
Deb
Kaybo (no better place to use free airline tickets)
Marci?  (chocolate cake and beer for turning 50
Steve
Lam Sue
Anne Marie wants to be there
Lori
Arushi

Still time to join the fun...

Honestly, there is few large cities as fine as Chicago. It's all here: The food, the culture, the museums, the lakefront, the outdoor events will make your head spin.
