Jan,
Tea can be afternoon and pizza can be dinner:-)  There will be enough in town by Thursday evening to get together.

Here is the write up for high tea which is served between 1:00 and 5:00. Social budgets will stretch further with pizza , but high tea is something totally different:-)

Thank you for your interest in Afternoon Tea at the Palm Court, the Drake Hotel. Afternoon Tea takes place daily in our traditional Tea Lobby . The dress code is smart casual and allows for dressy jeans but no baseball caps, sports wear and ripped jeans. Punctuality is recommended as each seating last approximately one and a half hours. Reservations are held for ten minutes. The price of the afternoon tea is $29 and that does not include tax and gratuity. An automatic 18% gratuity charge is added to parties of 6 or larger. A credit card is required just to hold the reservation, no preauthorization is done. Please note, however, a 50% penalty charge will be incurred if we are notified of the cancellation within 48 hours.

Now, I'm use to a proper English high tea in England as well as Boston....... is there a link to the High Tea to see what they are offering up? If worth it, I may fly in earlier to partake (btw, typical High Tea is done around 3-4pm.... hmmmmmmmmmm....)

OH, for anyone getting ready to book flights, got a notice from American Air today that there are specials for flights in/out of Chicago OHare.... some noting $49-$69 each way..... may be worth a peek.

Hello,

I was just reading some of these posts and just wondering about getting in the newletter list. Is this where you find out what is happening such as the convention in Chicago?  How do you get in this type of list? Where in Chiicago is this taking place?

I will be in Chicago.   My 23-year-old daughter is planning to come with me.  We will be arriving on Thursday.

I don't post alot, but I'm always lurking around, so I look forward to meeting all who attend.

Oh, and btw I love Chicago pizza!!

Oh, MissyCindy, I got your number, alright! ;) :D  Yes, still got it and can coordinate the call! :)

Lori, if you can musta' it outta ya piggy bank, kewl!  I got the email notification from American Air today, so it must be going on for a bit.  Granted, we are now putting in our requests for the Mod Leer jet and the goodies we need to stock up.

Steve, you wanted which cavier and which champagne on the Leer Jet? :)

Oh, sure - I'll be stowing away in the baggage hold of an old rusty plane while you Mods will be sipping the bubbly on your fancy new plane.....

I suppose we can catch a military flight and just parachute out over the Drake.  Watch for me - I'll be looking for something, or someone, soft to land on.

Kilroy -
