Deb,
My heart breaks for you! People that don't have pets just do not understand how attached you can become to them. It is just like losing a member of your immediate family. We lost our Golden very suddenly last year and it just has never been the same for any of us. Take all the time you need and just know that your AN family is here thinking of you!

Deb - I am so sorry for your loss. The love, compassion and devotion our babies give us is immeasurable. I don't know why they have to leave us so early. Ursa had a wonderful life.

Hi

Anyone who loses their animal has my "deepest" sympathy.  There is a *quiet private language* and bond that can't be put into words.

The love in an animal leaves me at a loss for words.

Capt Deb,

I am so sorry to hear about Ursa.  Many years ago, we lost our first family pet, a golden retriever, called Tomasina.  She was the sweetest companion and we felt so bad when we had to put her to sleep.  We could not tell her how we felt and I still remember the last moment with her to this day.  Her eyes opened up one last time to look at me.  I just remember it was so painful.  I am about to cry now even so many years later just the thought of her  :'(.

Take your time to heal.  Pets are the best family members whom you never fight with except share the joyest moments.

Ursa is in doggie heaven now with Tommy and all others we miss.  Picture them hoping up and down and rough housing all over the Pearly Gate!!

Our deepest condelences!!

I am also so very sorry for the loss of Cap't. Deb's beloved pet. Been there and done that too many times.  No pets for us for a while, if ever again.  Awfully hard on the heart.  :'(

Anyone who loves dogs, or any animal, or anyone who just loves to read...I highly recommend reading the book "Marley and Me" by John Grogan.  I just read it last week. It's been on the top 10 lists in non-fiction for a long time.  It is really a great book and absolutely hilarious and all you dog owners will certainly identify with John and his wife as they deal with a big, loveable, yellow Lab pup and the mayhem that ensues --- for the next 13 years.

Hi - I wanted to bump this thread up for the newer people that did not get in on it back in Sept./Oct.

While browsing through all the pictures, I noticed that ppearl and joef are now "Global Moderators"????  Does that mean what I think it means?

Hi Palace,

Beautiful golden retrievers (and you too)!!  Aren't they sweet dogs with such lovely personality?  It's great to finally see your picture.  Thanks Kathy for posting it!

Suzie (our ragdoll cat) had such a ball with Christmas, literally.  Alex (my soon-to-be 9 year old) made a ball with string and left all the wrappings on the floor.  She was in heaven jumping into the papers, playing around with the string ball, hiding in boxes and most of all, she loved boxing the little twist ties and lego pieces around on the floor!  It was more fun watching her than anything else  :D.

My little doggie got a great gift from her grandma, it's one of the AKC stuffed geese that doesn't just squeak, it quacks....a very strange sound to hear in the middle of the night, but she loves it!!!!  carries it around everywhere making it quack.  I need to get the pictures up of Genny opening her present from Auntie Deb!!!  Hopefully I can get to that tonight!

dying to see the pics! :)

Beanie all mad at me for leaving her for a week. Back in office today so we can have mother/daughter time... she is fast asleep in her portable fleece bed, snoring away at base of my desk.  But, she did manage to give me snuggles last night... I needed them.

happy holidays to all of our staunchest supporters! :)

Phyl:

May Cheeky Bloke be giving you those snuggles himself FULL TIME very soon, with Beanie in the middle of course.

Until then, hugs from all of us.......whenever you need them.
