Ready for a good laugh????
« on: May 05, 2009, 08:24:56 pm »
Are you ready for a good laugh? When I emailed my son-in-law awhile ago with the official wording of my upcoming translab surgery, he quickly emailed me back his comical definition of each word.  Here it goes:

                         ****************************************

left translabyrinthine craniotomy for resection of acoustic neuroma with abdominal fat graft and lumbar drain!!!!

We can dissect that here:

translabyrinthine is a magazine focused on puzzles and labyrinths.

craniotomy is a spanish verb that people use when they want to put cranberrys in their tummies.

resection of acoustic neuroma is a procedure that those guys from Best Buy do.  The geek squad is what they're called, I think.  They come to your house to put in different acoustic speakers that has new aromas emitting from them while playing music!

abdominal fat graft is a what happened to me once my metabolism slowed down and finally quit on me.  It somehow grafted a bunch of fat on my abdomen.

lumbar drain is at the end of the river before the sawmill.  The loggers hang up the lumber to dry off so they can saw it up and make paper, desks, chairs, skateboards, you know, pretty much anything that's made out of wood!

                           ******************************************

Have a good night!!

thanks for the chuckle.

I especially like the definition of the fat graft - very clever   :D

I liked the definition of the lumbar drain. Good re-describing of the process.

Love it!   ;D ;D ;D  If we cannot laugh at ourselves, then we are not accepting reality and moving on with the next exciting chapter in our lives.  What a clever way to soften the seriousness of it all!

I've said it before and I'll say it again,  "What good's a tumor if you can't use some humor to get you through the day or the night?

Brenda,

A very clever son-in-law you have there!   ;D

When I told a friend about my AN, he asked if an acoustic neuroma was any different from an electric neuroma.   ::)

The world is just full of stand-up comics!  But it's a good thing - we can all use a good laugh!
