Anyone heard from thecakes, who started this thread?  I hope she's doing well.  For starting this thread, I'm not sure if she should be keelhauled, or we should send her a bottle of champagne  :)

Cakes popped back in a few weeks ago, not sure what her feelings were, but hopefully it was one of pleasure as she was instrumental on this priceless gift.

I see we are still afloat this morning (15th) ;D

Think we need to do a roll call for the West "Best Coast" girls from Washington State and Pacific NW areas..  We had a major storm come thru yesterday with high winds, damage and so far 4 deaths.  I am hoping that all of our Washington, Oregon and BC members made it safely thru the night.

Shouting out to Nan, Kathleen, Vancouver Sue  Hoping you and yours are all ok!!!

Hugs to all

Raydean, that's why I called you... to check in on you. :-*

Ok, spoke to Gennysmom/Kathleen. She is out of power and her county has been advised to hunker down and stay put due to many downed trees and such... a bit dangerous to be out on the roads.  She also thought it best to stay home and make sure that the birds are kept warm. Funny... she made a comment to me about... pre-AN surgery... she would have planned other things in light of storm... but now, post AN surgery, she has a new vision/perspective of priorities... so, she's got the fireplace going to help keep the birds warm (she said is was rather cold) and she may be without power for a few days. Said her cell phone batteries run low and she has to run to car to recharge the phone, so if you call her, you may want to keep it short so she can save on phone batteries... just a thought.

So, Kathleen is ok for now... told her I'd check  in on her later. She said she'd be calling Nan as they were to get together this weekend.  So, will hopefully get update on Nan.

Hang in there, you NW An'ers!

Phyl

How long has this forum been afloat?  I was wondering when the ship/or sail-boat was first launched!

Kilroy,
Tell Foxy that Captain Debi from St Croix says Hi. Also Michael Beans, my old music partner,  on Marina Cay at the East End of Tortola. There is a great snorkling spot there with sea fans as big as Volkswagons! Here is a link to Beans website-- http://www.beansmusic.com/ He is a great entertainer and should be playing there right now.
Have fun!!!

Pirate talk choices; could be a good game for the Christmas day before, EATS!  <the Captain Deb knows all answers to the choices of what all this means>

1. He’s gone to Davy Jones’s locker
He went to the saloon
He is dead
He's a daydream believer
He's a homecoming queen

2. Shiver me timbers!
My legs are freezing
Light the fire
I am surprised
Make me a stiff drink

3. Hang the jib
To go fishing
To frown
A hand expression of peace
To visit the restroom

4. Splice the mainbrace!
To have a drink (or several)
Clean the fish
Walk the plank
Behead the pirate

5. Deadlights
A harbor town at night
A pirate's torch
Lights out
Eyes

6. Hempen halter
To complain
Pipe tobacco
The hangman’s noose
To talk in one's sleep

7. Hornswaggle
To cheat
A dance
Eat like a slob
An idiot

8. Booty
If J-Lo were a pirate, she would have this
Goods seized by force
A lover
A slipper

9. Clap of thunder
An explosion
A storm is ahead
A strong drink
A loud scream

10. Avast!
Revenge
Disgusted
Desperate
Stop
