no long weekend here... My Japanese office doesn't do long weekend.. while CB gets "bank holiday" in London... ok, I'm peeved! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

you gotta be kiddin? no long weekend? as a matter of interest, in this lucky land down under, we get 10 public holidays per year plus a standard 4 weeks annual leave. If you are a good negotiator, you can usually swing 6 weeks annual leave but thats for the "rich and famous". oh if you work for a bank, you get a bank holiday as well. oh, and you also get 17.5% loading on your 4 weeks annual leave. Thats just short of about a weeks pay on top.

I think thats about as good as it gets - unless you are self employed when noone pays you when you are on leave.

Ok, so I'm moving to the land of oz and taking a vacation right off the bat!  I've been vacationed deprived for years.  I usually take the month of july off with no pay then have to go to a work conference right in the middle...This year its at the end and I'm sure I won't be going LOL

Actually, I've been here so long I'm earning about 4.5 weeks a year.  With 10 holidays as well.  And a flex schedule.  Must have negotiated well!!!   ;D

Soul, soul, got rid of that years ago!

Actually work conditions and stress are largely what you make of it. There are some very unscrupulous employers around 9everywhere I think) but by and large, its not bad here. Sydney is the "fastest" city and then as you get into the smaller capitals the pace drops a bit.

Anyway, back at boring work now so will need to do something today. gotsto think of the next adventure coz they are getting a little stale. I mean, how many times can ye wenches be dipped in choccie?
