Hi All, I am newly diagnosed last Tuesday. Doctor thought I had shingles but never developed a rash so he encouraged me to get an MRI. Had MRI on Nov 21 and found 2.1cm AN on right ear.

Was referred to Dr Todd Vitaz but saw on this bulletin board a reference to Dr Bryan Figueroa. Does anyone from Michigan have experience with either of these doctors? BTW, Dr Vitaz used to practice in Kentucky so if anyone from Kentucky has experience please comment.

I am so greatful for this community!

I don't know anything specific about those doctors, but for these rare tumors, you want to find a doctor who has as much experience as possible.  Maybe that's the case in Grand Rapids (I know the city well, since my cousin lives there), but I'd be surprised if they treat AN a lot there.
Vestibular Schwannoma 1.2 cm. Right side.
Middle fossa surgery at University of Iowa on May 9 2016.
Hearing saved.  Face is fine. Balance pretty darn good most days.
One year follow up MRI showed no tumor.
Five year follow up showed no tumor, so I'm in the clear.
