An explanation re nerves in head with Ans....
« on: July 28, 2006, 05:30:23 pm »
Hi,

I think we have many here who have done quite a lot of reading re Ans and so perhaps might like this site which actually talks about how Ans can be a reason for many symptoms.

The net is a wonderful thing. Info is at one's fingertips. Then again we don't' always find complete explanations. I think this might suggest to some that an An and "where" it is situated amongst other things, might explain why there is such a huge variation amongst patients regardless of what symptoms are discussed on boards or what treatment is done.

Hope the link goes through...

Interesting site, I never have asked nor been told the size of my inital tumor but based on symptoms it was a Grade 3-4.
I was having intermittant losss of sensation in my face that was progessively becoming permentant.

1st AN surgery @ age 23, 16 hours
Loss of 7-10th nerves
mulitple "plastic" repairs to compensate for effects of 7th nerve loss
tumor regrowth, monitored for a few years then surgically removed @ age 38 (of my choice, not medically necessary yet)
