TMJ related issues
« on: August 18, 2011, 02:07:52 pm »
I have a stable for now 8mm x 14 mm AC; diagnosed in Sept 2010.  I'm seeing Dr. Gidley at MD Anderson and for now the tumor is not growing at a percievable rate.  I'm still working on the big T and have had it get better with Chiropractic treatment for about 12 hours, 3 diff times.  However, providers were all different and cannot duplicate.  The focus of my throbbing which translates to rining is my left jaw hinge point.  I've been told I have distolized chondiles (spelling?), which means the jaw is bone on bone at times and always irritated.  So, although I have T I'm working on it with bite guards provided by dentist that specialize in TMJ.

So, here is the question:  Although these providers are well meaning, I wonder if there are specialist that work with ACs and TMJ issues (mine do not). I'm in Oklahoma; does anyone have a line on a good TMJ Dr. with AC experience?

Thanks and bless all of you,

Dale

Diagnosed September 2010
Wait and Watch until MRI showed 2 mm growth in July 2012
Surgery on Aug. 30, 2012 via middle fossa at MD Anderson; results showed the tumor to be a benign meningioma instead of a AC.  Hearing was saved; mild Tinnitus; Feel Very Blessed
