Cox Building at MGH
« on: October 02, 2009, 05:15:11 pm »
Hi,

If anyone has been there, any advice on the best place to park would be appreciated.  I'm planning for my appointment with Dr. Loeffler next Wednesday...

Park in any of the garages.  Don't do valet at MEEI, though.  It's $9 for all day if you're a patient (although I've never had to prove it, I must just look like I need help.).  Take a walk and window shop on Charles Street if you have time and it's a nice day.
Good luck.  I saw him in '01 when I was studying options after diagnosis.

Hi Laura,

We park at the Yawkey Building parking lot ($9 a day for patients) when we go in and walk over. It's an underground parking lot, and we've never had a problem finding a spot. Take the elevator up into the Yawkee building itself and you're within walking distance of all the buildings (note: the area you see when you get off the garage elevator is where you pay for parking when you're ready to leave, and once you pay you have something like 20 minutes to exit the garage). You can ask at MGH’s information desk how to get to the COX building if you haven't been there yet.

Hi, Laura
I only parked once at MGH, but the others gave you good advice.  There are several gargaes  - just don't park in the MEEI garage!  I did have to show my blue hospital card though to the garage attendent to get the patient rate, though.  I guess I didn't look enough like a patient!   :D

Let us know how your appt with Dr. L went ...

Hope to see you in a couple of weeks at the brunch!
