I don't know where I got it in my head that the Field Museum was free on thurs!  I just checked the website and it is free every second Monday. DUUUUUHHH!  Entry to the Pirate exhibit is $23 but I am willing to pay that--it is supposed to be really cool.  I have pi$$ed away $23 a few times in my life, believe me!  This time it will be worth it!!  Let me know who is up for it pre-dinner on Thurs.

I'm in for pirates and dinner. My girls (ages 21 and 13) will be along for the evening, but methinks Captain Deb will find them to be a pair of fun-lovin' wenches.

Gee, thanks, Phyl!  I was going to write that we were flying in to MIDWAY but I didn't think everyone had to know about my dumb, blonde moment... ;D

Oh, heck.. I have artificial dumb blonde moments daily :)  BTW, have we given Dave a job on the PBW, based on his love of all things Pirate? ;)

Wish I could, but I'll be leaving San Diego in route to Chicago with a connection in Denver on Thursday evening.

I hear the pirate exhibit is phenomenal though.  Have fun  ;D

Hi Phyl,

Rosebuds is Italian and it is on Rush Street.  Gino's East, although primarily deep dish pizza, has other food on its menu too! Maggianos serves huge portions of pasta (share these)
I'll think some more and if I come up with others, I will get back to the thread:-)

Are these within walk from the Drake distance?                 The Drake has a list of restaurants on its website too and the addesses of them and how far they are.                      I am not a late night supper person but still want to see everyone.                    I will be back in my normal time zone and know others will be adjusting.                                 Cheryl

Are we looking for restaurants close to the Drake, or close to the Field Museum?

I figured closer to the Drake so that those that can't come to the Pirates can meet for dinner if they want!

The museum is in with other museums in an area by the lake and am not sure if walkable easily from downtown.        I would consider it more of a driving destination myself but has been a while since we were there.              So don't think there are restaurants right by it.                                          Cheryl R
