Keri,
Congrats on the half! Must have been a pretty run.
The "Final Mile" race for Paige was great. There were over 2000 kids from schools all over.
They ran 25.2 miles in one mile increments at school, and then on race day, all the kids ran the final mile together and raised money for Operation Smile. It was amazing. The day was beautiful, although a little hot for the runners. The kids all got t-shirts and goody bags and medals, just like the "big" runners. If I remember how to post a picture on here, I will.
I have my 5K coming up in a month. Ugh.... I was wondering if I could wear those sneakers with the roller skate wheels built into the bottom (Wheelies or something)? Then I could run when people are watching and roll when they look the other way!
Although my balance might not be quite good enough for that.
I did buy myself a t-shirt for the event though - it says "Brain Surgery? Been there. Done that". I figure that way, people's expectations of me will be low right from the beginning, so even if I have to crawl over the finish line, I might still get a round of applause! Anyone want to borrow it?
