Soundy ~

Let me add my appreciation for your update on Gabe.   Once again, prayers were answered.  While Gabe may be developmentally behind due to his illness, I'm sure his parents are thrilled and delighted to have him with them and will do whatever is necessary to bring their boy 's education up to his age level.  Gabe's survival is a miracle and I'm just thankful for that.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

I saw Gabe's aunt today ...

he is in a wheel chair but otherwise doing well ... he went back to school in January and she said other kids around him was great medicine ... she said there is damage from cancer that was in his spinal column that may be permanent and he may never walk again ... but he is almost caught up academically ... she says he is a silly little boy that loves playing pranks ... we got teary in Walmart and got funny looks from passers by ... it was so good to hear he is doing so well ... doctors won't call him cured until he is 5 years out and that count started in December ... but to have a happy silly little boy on their hands is such a blessing after the grim prognosis ... if he was still in this area I would encourage his mischievousness
