New Wii Game Helping With Balance
« on: March 17, 2009, 06:49:39 pm »
This is a quick one because .... American Idol is on... LOL

But...wanted to let you know that I borrowed a Wii game from my daughter. Dance Dance Revolution. I've figured out part of it and I've been using it for about a week now. It's fun, it keeps me moving around having to put my feet in specific places to "dance" while watching the screen (think of the aerobic stuff on the Wii Fit but this is more fun), and is just the type of thing that my PT told me is good for me.

I am feeling GOOD! Keeping active has really been helping me a lot, I think. Anyway - thought I would pass it on to anyone who might be interested. I will use it for a few more weeks before returning it to her, but I think that this will be my next Wii purchase.

Has anyone else used this?

I have the Wii Fit and wondered if that would help post-op but now I'll have a good "excuse" to buy DDR, I've been wanting it for a while!  I'm glad to hear its helping!

Looks fun.... Might even try it myself. The "normal" wii fit is getting boring.

That video...is hilarious!   :D  I also found one of an amazing five year old doing it, he was good!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uysU7cTgk5c&feature=related
It does look like fun and I bet my kids would get a kick out of it too.

I agree - I'm getting bored with the normal Wii Fit. It's nice that my daughter has different games so we can swap and see if we like them before going out to buy them.

I thought this was also really good for the balance and coordination. I'm only on the beginner stage, but I've actually gotten a AA on one dance (and plenty of D's and C's on others. LOL)

I got the new Active Personal Trainer for my Wii Fit because I was also getting bored with regular Wii Fit.  Everything has been going great with it until I did a jump, and I fell back and hit the coffee table.  Huge bruise on my arm.  Be careful if you attempt the jumps.

My dr. now prescribes this so insurance will pay for it. Wish I would have thought to ask him about it when I paid for mine. :(

I just bought the EA Active Personal trainer as well..and ouchie...didtn know I had muscles that could hurt so much...my surgery wasnt as painful...lol...but it sure gives me a workout...As for the WII fit I had a step (4") made so that when I did the free step it was extra work...like climbing stairs...plus I've added a pack sac with 14 lbs added to it...again extra work but worh it in the end.
