Atlanta Doctors
« on: January 22, 2006, 04:09:08 pm »

Does anyone have knowledge or experience of Atlanta doctors who have treated many AN patients?

How about Drs. Mattox and Olson?

Thanks,  Byron Jones

I am new here. Wow-last year at this time I didn't know what an AN was or who these doctors were.
Dr. Mattox and Dr. Olson removed my 3 cm AN on July 25, 2005.  I was diagnosed  with the AN on May 27, 2005
by a local Atlanta ENT.  He gave me the results of my MRI and referred me to Dr. Mattox at Emory.  The same day I
met a very nice women whom Dr. Mattox had done a successful  nerve graft on.  She had been referred to
him by a doctor in California.

My surgery went well. Both doctors have wonderful staffs that are willing to answer hours of questions. My journey is
ongoing since the AN had stretched my facial nerve and I still have left-side facial paralysis. My lower lip has started
working and I can drink from a cup.

If you go to the Emory Healthcare site you can access the list of credentials for both doctors.  Also if you search the Physician Information on
this site there is a post in reference to Dr. Mattox and Dr. Olson.

I was standing at the bus stop with my seven year old on August 10, 2005.  That was the best.
