Well Capt Deb, I am celebrating Chelle-O-Ween with my daughter(she renamed Halloween in honor of herself) because it is her birthday  (33 years young on that grand day)  then I am going with my grandson plundering and pilfering the neighborhoods.  He is gonna be Super monkey Man-----Hopefully I can figure out how to post the pictures, 'cause I made the costume!!!

We are going off the mountain to balmy Charlotte, where it's not 3500 feet above sea level and snowing like it is up here to pillage and plunder.  My grandscallywags other grandparents have hooked them up with cheesy Target "Character " costumes. Some kind of super hero starwars power rangers made-in-China crapola.  Whatever happened to the costumes that yer Ma ( or grandma--kudos to Brendaluwench!) made you? Or rubbing charcoal on your face, wearing your Dad's old clothes and going as a bum? Too much TV and too much commercialism! AAAAARRRRRRR!!! I'm breaking out my good old pirate regalia and going as myself!

The bank my kids have money in throw a block party just of town square ... hot dogs ,hamburger ,
glowing stuff to hang on you to keep from getting run over ... and there is trick or treating around
the square with merchants giving candy ,small toys and enticing parents in to shop...

we usually hit that then a neighborhood ...best year the kid had 40 pounds of loot between them ...
my grown sons got most of it and I stuffed candy jars all over school... I stole the Snickers and Dumdums ...
husband took Babe Ruths and bubble gum... girls had a couple pieces left by the time they had
their plunder plundered...

Oldest has a black faceless face  mask and is wearing a black sweater and black jeans and black boots and carrying
a long sword...acording to her she is a black thing with a big sword ... (we need a confused smiley) she
wants to go trick or treat but is almost 11 and is thinking she is too old... I'm almost 47 and still go

Youngest was the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz at the Book Character dress up day at school about
three weeks ago... I made her a hood so her head looked like a feed sack and made her face up...I sewed
some patches on a pair of brown pants and a green long sleeve shirt...tied her ankles ,wrist and neck with
twine(disclaimer...neck was not actually tied but looped most of the way around and tacked on to hood...
had a teacher almost freak thinking I tied a rope around her neck)...she won first in her grade ... she is
wearing that with vampire fangs added ... had to make him scary

I am wearing a Great Pumpkin T-shirt cause  my little autistic buddy  at school gave it to me ... we
always stick some kind of ears and tail on my husband (against his wishes) ... this year I guess he is gonna
get my eye patch and dagger...it would clash with my pumpkin shirt ...
3mm AN discovered Aug 2004

Aw, Steve, you stole my costume idea!  Well, I guess we could ALL dress up as Phyl this year!

My kids know the routine - I will gladly take them trick or treating, but it will cost each one of them one peanut butter cup each.  That's a small price to pay if you could see the size of the hills in my neighborhood!
