Article on facial rehabilitation
« on: May 10, 2011, 02:47:55 pm »
I just could not resist posting this article even though I personally do not suffer from facial paralysis.

Hope it will inspire many people!

Eve ~

Although the article specified that the study was conducted on persons with facial nerve damage resulting from childhood injury, it would seem to be applicable to AN patients suffering from facial nerve damage due to the tumor and/or surgery.  Very interesting.  Thanks for posting it.

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Hi Eve,

Interesting article, although as Jim mentioned it has to do with childhood injuries it doesn't mean it doesn't pertain to AN's as well.  My nerve was cut, not damaged but who knows perhaps it would work for me to.  It's always nice to have hope that new things will come along.  I live in Spokane so perhaps they would like to use me as a test dummy, he, he!  Thanks for posting the link, it often seems like those on this board have more knew info. for us then the doctors do, at least the ones I go to.  Jill :D
