Facial paralysis
« on: March 20, 2005, 06:02:31 pm »
I would like to talk to people with facial paralysis and numbness. I had my surgery Dec.2003 and my facial nerve was severed.  The worst part for me is my cornea is numb and so is my side of my face,  I had the 12/7 done in Jan of 2004 and have a gold weight in my eye.  I have movement from the 12.7 but I am still trying to get used to the tight feeling in my face and the way my tongue feels so thick.  Does it ever get better or go away.  Also has anybody used massage or warm washrag to help the tightness.  I also have double vision because my eye turns in.  I am having eye muscle surgery next month to help.   I am still having trouble coping with all of this.  I am 53 years old.  I am back to work which helps.  Luckily i work in a nursing home so I don't look out of place!!!
