Sounds like good news overall on the audiogram, Sara - you must be kind of relieved.  Sorry to hear about the BlinkEze challenges, though.  Hopefully MedDev will be able to help with some suggestions.  Only being able to wear it a few hours at a time doesn't really help that much, does it?

I'll be very interested in hearing about your appt with Dr. Neely after you've seen her - hopefully she'll be able to help.

Meanwhile, let's hope we all have extra blessings on Thanksgiving this year!

I called Wash U about doing the facial EMG and ENoG that Dr. Casey reqeusted on the same day as my appointment with Dr. Neely. They called back with appointments on the 28th, the day before my appointment. Dr. Neely is in surgery on the 28th, so I can't change the appointment with him. They will call me back if there are any cancellations for testing on the 29th, but it is unlikely. So we will be making back-to-back trips to St. Louis here in a little over a week. I am very anxious to meet Dr. Neely and see what he has to say.

I'm keeping fingers crossed, Sara.  The waiting is really hard, isnt' it?

BTW, I got my blinkeze yesterday (1.2 mm) and I like it so far.  I am amazed at what a difference it has made in terms of how often I put drops in my eye - big improvement.  I had the doctor "install" it yesterday, so am going to try to take it off and re-install it tonight myself.  I'm sure I'll be all thumbs.

Have a good weekend!  Try not to stress too much.

I think my BlinkEze doesn't work right because my eyelid droops. I am still waiting for their customer service to call me back. I'm glad you are happy with yours.

HI Sara and ditto the welcomes you have already received here.

Glad to find you are doing well generally and finding some help here.

Thanks for your post to my other enquiry about facial therapy.

Good luck!

Sara~
You may have this all resolved by now, but it sounds to me like the weight might be too heavy.  I am no doctor, but I did have to have my gold weight "tweecked" twice after the initial surgery because the weight wasn't right.  We had done the BlinkEze to try to find the perfect weight, but until you wear them for an extended time, I don't see how you know how you will react.
Just a thought...

Kaybo, that may be, but my ophthalmologist wanted nearly complete closure during a blink and we could not get that with lighter weights. He wanted me to order a 1.8 gram, but that was definitely too heavy -- I could feel it bounce when I walked. My eyelid holds the 1.6 gram weight up well. It seems like if it would fit into the crease of my eyelid it would be fine, but my puffy upper lid won't allow for that. Anyway, I have an appointment in two weeks with an ophthalmologist who works with facial paralysis patients, and we will be discussing implants.

Thanks, Sara
