I spoke with Asha's husband this morning.  She went to a regular room Wednesday evening.  She is happy about that and "doing better now". ... will be home Saturday or Sunday.  Her hubby sounded very tired.

Thanks for updating us Boppie.

Didn't get a chance to drop Asha a note today, but will definitely do so this weekend.

Boppie:

Thanks again for the 'Asha Update'.  If her husband can't post much, at least you can act as a relay and keep us updated.

That she is out of ICU and feels better is a positive sign.  I'm sure we'll be seeing her here as a 'postie' before long.

Meanwhile, your contacts and that of other members with Asha and/or her husband are very helpful and show the kind of empathy and concern that makes me proud to a part of this community.... except for the part of having an acoustic neuroma that required surgery and radiation to get rid of, that is.    :)

Thanks, Ann.

Boppie also talked to Asha and her husband again.  Maybe she'll give us an update today too.

Sending good wishes Asha's way,

Jan

Asha is moving along with her recovery.  She still has some residual bits of tumor stuck to her embattled facial nerve, but the bulk of it is out.  She is walking at the Mall (Dallas is hot!) and has excellent care from her husband.  I think she will get her stitches out today and get permission to go back to her contacts.  She is very happy to have the tumor out.  She and Dr. Owen will watch the facial nerve for any tumor growth that could necessitate a radiation treatment.

Boppie, thanks for that update!

I just knew she'd do well.  She has such a great attitude and really made sure to ask all the right questions before her surgery.  I'm so happy for her!

Dear Asha,

It is so good to hear from you! You sound so upbeat and happy on the phone. You have had a positive attitude throughout this whole ordeal and have come through it with flying colors. It's amazing what can be accomplished with good friends, good attitude and lots of faith. I wish you continued healing on your AN journey. Friends,  Ann

Asha -

Great to hear from you.  I'm sorry I missed your call the other day - I was out of town for a few days.  But, you sounded great!  I hope things continue to go well.

Take care!
