Hi all:
I have come over from the watch and wait category as I have a question. If my AN grows (second MRI coming up at end of April), I am considering GK or CN as my best treatment option. However, I have a permanent titanium tooth implant in my mouth which was installed about six years ago. It is on the opposite side of my mouth (left side) while my AN is in my right ear. I am wondering if the titanium tooth might cause problems (deflection) with the radiation beams used in GK or CK treatment. Might this implant rule me out as a candidate for GK or AN treatment?

I have about 9 implants becaue of my previous cancer and radiation to my head & neck. I don't know about GK but I was good to go with CK on my right side AN. Amazing what Ck can achieve. Just completed it last week and so far no problems.

Butch:
Thanks for the response. Sounds like you have been through a lot of procedures. Hope that your CK treatment takes care of your AN for you.

Hi Frank, I'm no expert but I doubt the ray would deflect off the tooth implant.  Or they would just have a protocol to avoid the tooth area.  It's a good question for the cyber knife support group website. Also I'm sure our ck'ers will have an answer for you in a bit.

Thanks for the response. I'm now thinking that it won't be a problem but I will bring it up when I discuss things with my ENT.
