Hi, Mary:
For what it may be worth: I had retrosigmoid microsurgery followed (3 months later) by 26 FSR sessions and to be honest, I never experienced any neck pain. This may be something specific to you or possibly due to other causes, unrelated to the AN treatment but exacerbated by laying on that table, etc. I know that I had tumor swelling following the FSR treatments as a follow-up MRI showed it and I felt it in the form of shooting pains and a tightness on my 'AN side' (left) but my neck never bothered me. The swelling eventually subsided as did the accompanying pain and feeling of 'tightness'.
Whatever the source of your pain, massage sounds like a viable method of treatment for it. My wife, who has suffered from back pain for years, found prescription muscle relaxers to be very effective. I trust you'll find relief from your neck pain soon, whether by therapeutic massage or medication.
