New to site
« on: June 14, 2007, 05:36:34 pm »
hello I am 23 and new to the site I had my AN removed in 2005. Now I need to have the metal removed from my head also. They are removing the plates and screws that were attached to hold the bone. It's a scary process from me and I guess I finally just need some to talk to who knows what I am going through! Thank you!

Hello,
I was just wondering, what metal are you referring to?

Hall0602: sorry about your problem, I will keep in you in my thoughts and prayers. I had radiation treatment so I can't really provide any insight to your dilemna. But yeah, why the metal in your head? if this is a new procedure, I think people would want to know about it.. And yeah, surgery is scary, especially on your head!  Take care of yourself and keep us updated, love always, Annie

Unfortunately, I am also unable to help you with any information.  I had my surgery May 1, 2007, and they used fat from my abdomen to patch the missing piece of skull, which I am pretty sure will not require another surgery.
Best wishes,
