Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know, Im now waiting to see if the radiologist thinks I should have another MRI with contrast done or not, apparently its down to them not the consultant, thats what i was told anyway!

Regardless of what the radiologist thinks, I will be getting another one done with contrast, privately, I havent been left much of an option, if i ask to see another ENT specialist for a second opinion it will take weeks again.

My ear has been dreadful the past week, the pain and pressure in the ear getting too much to bear, spent most of Wednsday in bed. I had a hearing test done yesterday, I wasnt told what the results were, I thought the consultant would tell me, but he was in such a bad mood I forgot to ask. When they stick that thing in your ear and it starts making a noise, eek, the pain in my ear, I think it was the instrument to test the pressure.

Well, thats all for now. Thank you all for your support.

Best wishes

Jacey

Hey jacey.
one thing that helped the pressure in my ear was if you take a coffee mug or styrofoam cup and put a washcloth in and hot water and hold it up to your ear (bend your head sideways) the heat helps to open the ear up some.  Just be careful not to burn your ear!

Hi

Thanks for the info on the ear pressure problem, I will certainly give it a try. Funny you say that, when my mum went abroad via aeroplane, she used to suffer terrible pain in her ears and found a cure by holding two cups over her ears during take off and landing, she said it really did work, felt a bit silly, but who cares eh!!

I have found out  i have private insurance cover, and there are no pre conditions, so I can really go for it now, just waiting to hear from the hospital to fit me in for a MRI this week!!!!

The consultant has his appointments on Mondays, i might even have an answer by Monday evening next week. I hope so.

I was wobbling about all over the place last night, my partner and I laugh about it, he is always saying you drunk again woman!! You have to laugh really dont you. I was having a small dispute with my GP about balance and dizziness, he said they are the same thing, i kept saying i didnt think they were, i dont feel dizzy when i go off balance, its like someone either gently or pulling hard a rug from beneath my feet, i have to grab something because it feels like im going to fall, but ah well, Drs know best eh!

Hope everyone is ok, and not feeliing too bad today.

Jacey.

Yeah I felt pretty silly with the cup on my ear on the plane but I was miserable enough I didn't care what anyone thought  LOL

Yep the dizzy and loss of balance are not the same to me either.  I can get disorientated like a pilot that loses his bearings.  What do doctors know they only PRACTICE  at work all day  LOL
