Dying Hair After Surgery
« on: October 21, 2020, 02:20:15 pm »
The Physician Assistant told me that after my surgery, I could dye my hair but I need to make sure that hair dye does not touch the area of my head where the incision was made for at least three months. Has anyone tried dying their hair successfully post-op and avoided getting dye on the incision site?  Was it difficult? Any tips? I know this may sound so vain and minor, but it is still something that is weighing heavily on my mind. I went gray in my 30's and am now 50. Three months of not dying my hair will be very shocking and honestly, depressing.

I TOTALLY understand....I was at about 4 months before my surgical scar completely healed and my surgeon said I could dye my hair. About 5 years later, I quit coloring my hair completely. I haven't looked back!

Stay well.

Thanks for your reply! While you were healing, did you wear hats?
