I had some success the other day with taking Ibuprofen (200 MG) for some minor clogged ear with strange sounds the other day.  I thought I might have to go to the doc for some steroids...but this seemed to do the trick.  Anyone else ever use this?  I used it because I saw someone post somewhere that they had used it.

Hey Gary,

I'm on a course of daily ibuprofen for costrocondritis (taken in the am).. when I get head fullness, I will, on occassion, take extra OTC ibuprofen at night as well... occassionally helps... more times yes than no. Glad to hear it's working for you! :)

Just watch this drug - it can cause stomach ulcers with prolonged use.

I'm surprised it helped with tinnitus because I thought it would act a lot like aspirin, which increases tinnitus activity.  Great that it doesn't for you!!  Anything good is good.

I took tylenol a couple of weeks ago when I had a headache.  It seemed to work.  I am quite sure it's caused by the pressure.  Last two days I have some slight headache, fullness in my head and loud tinnitus.  I am debating whether I should take more tylenol given I will be flying tomorrow.  Does anyone have any luck with tylenol?  It sounds like aspirin is not a good medicine with tinnitus.

Mary, hey! :)

I haven't tried Tylenol yet as it no longer is effective on me and what ails me (besides AN issues), so I can't tell you on that one. I'm also on daily aspirin therapy, so last night, boy, I thought I heard Beverly Sills (think back folks!) hitting a high note in my ear!

OMG!  I think that was what I heard last night - Beverly Sills' Adio del Passato!!!  May be the weather has something to do with this.  Anyway, it's wet here in the sunny San Diego.  Go figure!
