1 year MRI
« on: November 21, 2006, 02:50:25 pm »
I just received the results of my one year MRI. My surgery was middle fossa on November 8th, 2005. The report stated as follows:

"In the right IAC there is noted high signal on T1 and T2 weighted images consistent with fat packing related to previous surgery. No suspicious enhancing lesion in the IAC identified to suggest recurrent acoustic neuroma. Left IAC is normal."

I am so happy that all is well. I feel great and all I have is an eye that "winks" when I yawn or chew or smile broadly.

Congratulations!
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

You should be smiling broadly now - with a "wink"

An AN your size treated by Dr. Brackmann  is always clear at one and 5 years.  You shouldn't have been worried about it, but congrats .

My hearing was 100% when I was first diagnosed. After 1 year, my hearing had diminished to 85%, which made me decide to have the surgery. My first hearing test after surgery was 2 months later and my hearing was at 76%. A year post op it has held steady at 76%. Hearing in my "good" ear is still 100%.

Thanks to all of you for all the good wishes!
