BAHA healing cap problem
« on: July 22, 2018, 05:33:47 am »
I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I'm sort of in a panic right now. I had BAHA surgery a week ago and I had a white healing cap put over the abutment and in the past few days it fell off and I don't know where it is at or how it happened, I didn't even feel it come off. I covered up the abutment with a bandage. I'm scared the Doctor will get mad when I see him Monday. Any advice or thoughts? I didn't mean for this to happen.

Don't worry. That is a cap that they ask you to remove after a week or two.  I used to put it back all the time but my doc told me to not put anything on it anymore. In fact pitting it on and off will loosen the screw.  I have nothing on the BAHA  Had my surgery about a month ago. The area around is still raw.  I clean the area with those wipes that the manufacturer provided and apply some Bacitracin ointment on it.  For safety sake, I tie a bandana when I go out for a walk to prevent any dust to get the BAHA.
Hope this helps
