Following this thread! I've looked into all three surgeons, and had a consult with Dr. Azizzadeh. It appears they all specialize in different surgeries, so it would be difficult to take care of all of my issues at one time. (synkinesis around the eye, synkinesis around the chin/neck area, and lack of a smile).
2.7 cm meningioma in CPA and IAC
Retrosig June 2013 resulted in Facial paralysis and SSD
6-mo post-op MRI showed 1.0 cm remains in IAC
3-yr MRI still shows no new growth!
6/2014 Baha magnet implanted; 8/2014 magnet removed due to poor healing; 9/2014 abutment installed. Hearing fine!

Thanks Kristena.
Many people had surgeries with Tessa Hadlock, Patrick Byrne. Only one person had surgery Azizzadeh. Does it means , Tessa Hadlock, Patrick Byrne are handling multiple issues/surgeries of face simultaneously. ?

I took an appointment with Tessa Hadlock, Patrick Byrne, Babak Azizzadeh.

1.Any body have any list of questions we may have to ask surgeons .  If so please email me to sonyagarwal1920@gmail.com
2.  Are these each surgeon specialized/notable for any particular types of surgeries.  As per forum members, patric done many T3, many people refereed Tessa for gracilis flap surgery. So can i conclude that Patrick specialized in T3 , Tessa specialized in gracilis flap surgery?
3. In the web Babak Azizzadeh also looks very famous . but many none of our forum members had a surgery with him . any specific reason ?

I am sorry I haven't responded sooner.  Tugnutt here, I had gracilis flap surgery January 2017 with Dr. Kofi Boahene at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.  I cannot say enough positive about my experience (just don't ask about hospital food there...).  He did a great job with my transfer, within 3 months I had movement to create a full, genuine smile, and  I can drink (without a straw!!) out of most glasses.  It has changed my life.  He also used part of the transferred muscle to support my lower eyelid, so it has improved my eye function.  I hope you were able to decide what is best for you!  Let us know how it goes.

Hi All, has anyone had any luck with NYU Langone for facial rehab.  I've tried acupuncture now I've been reading about facial rehab I.e. Massage at Langone. I think I'm going to call them. Thanks, Joan

Hi Sonyagarwal1980,

feel free to contact me on email at tugnutt@verizon.net.  I didn't see a PM from you, but I am happy to share my experience with Dr Boahene for facial reanimation.
