anyone with a VP shunt?
« on: May 14, 2017, 04:01:05 pm »
2 AN surgeries and cyberknife.   I just had my second resection on April 11/2017 and developed hydrocephalus where a shunt was installed.  Wondering if anyone else has a shunt??   I have a lot of questions.  I will be asking my NO when I see him this Thurs, but would like first hand experience

My wife had a shunt. Developed Hydrocephalus about 10 months after Cyberknife for AN. Neurosurgeon said wasnt becasue of Cyberknife but I never did buy that.

I had hydrocephalus in 2014, just after the exeresis of a VS, 3.5 cm. Immediately they made  a VP shunt, set at 140. No problems since then. But I have to reset the VP, at 140, after every each MR. That's all.
-extropy (Rome, Italy)
2014 - at age 65 problems with left ear (tinnitus, imbalances, deafness, short-memory problems, etc).
2014 - MR found VS, 3.5 cm circa.
2014 - Exeresis, in Rome, RS approach,  followed by hydrocephalus ... and shunt.
2018 - AN has regrown, volume is 2.6 cm3.
2018 - GK (Humanitas, Milan)
