I saw the surgeons at Vanderbilt but I am not sure if they do phone consults. I traveled from out of state to them - would have been nice to do a phone consult, but I never asked. I think it is a great facility though and I feel like I am in good hands.

Coleen,
Good Luck to you.  Are you having other symptoms besides hearing loss. I too have 2.7 An pressing on brain stem -but with no other visible symptoms, my surgeon recommended that I do an MRI in 3 mos to see if it is growing and if not - leave it alone.  Wondering what made you decide on surgery.

Hi Regina, I had two consultations and they both advised to remove it. Perhaps it was how much it was pressing? I do not know. I do know that when I was shown the one slide, I did have quite a bit of brain stem compression. I have mainly loss of hearing (90% gone), balance issues and severe tinnitus and foggy brain. I occasionally, just recently, have pain along my cheek (trigeminal nerve) that comes and goes.

So Coleen,
are you having these symptoms after the surgery?  What were your symptoms before surgery?

Coleen, how you feeling now? Are you back home or still in LA? How is you balance, and how is your abdominal wound healing? I hope all is well, and wish you continued progress leading to a short recovery run.
