Past Gullian-Barrre Syndrome
« on: December 12, 2016, 12:11:26 am »
Hi all!

I'm currently in the evaluation process for a possible AN due to unilateral tinnitus, hearing loss and balance issues.I also have vision issues and chronic headaches, and some pain on the side of my face with the hearing issues.  I'm doing that not so healthy research before I even have a diagnosis. There is one thing that I'm curious about. 20 years ago I had Gullian-Barre Syndrome. With that the immune system attacks the myelin sheath which I believe is composed of Schwann cells. An acoustic neuroma is on overgrowth of Schwann cells (if I'm understanding this correctly). I'm wondering if a correlation has ever been made between GBS and AN? I haven't been able to find anything about. I just found it interesting that both conditions involve Schwann cells.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
