Emory Atlanta trans lab was on 2/6/13
« on: February 12, 2014, 12:34:23 am »
Last week 2/6 I had a 1.8 cm schwannoma taken out by Dr Mattox and Hadgjinpanayis. Trans lab approach.  Today is day 5 after surgery.  Chief issue is headache that percucets don't seem the manage. Some minor neuropathy on left side of face but not bad.  If the headaches were resolved I think that I could be functional again.

Just wanted to congratulate you on recent surgery. Sorry you have such debilitating headaches but you are early in recovery so may the situation will soon get better, I hope ...I too had translab but was in hospital for one week due to second surgery 4days after AN surgery so was still on pain meds and did not experience bad headaches after getting home.

Good luck to you, take your time recovering and I feel sure things will get better soon,, good time to stay in and recover due to this weather!  Jane

Hang in there!  I had AN surgery a few months ago and I think your headaches will eventually go away.

I had retrosigmoid, and days 4-5 I had terrible headaches, and my BP was off the chart. But they soon subsided and haven't returned (fingers crossed). I'm now 8 mos post op. I wish you the best!
2.7 cm meningioma in CPA and IAC
Retrosig June 2013 resulted in Facial paralysis and SSD
6-mo post-op MRI showed 1.0 cm remains in IAC
3-yr MRI still shows no new growth!
6/2014 Baha magnet implanted; 8/2014 magnet removed due to poor healing; 9/2014 abutment installed. Hearing fine!
