A positive out of a negative
« on: October 09, 2012, 01:49:41 am »
G'day everyone

With the tinnitus so loud I could barely think, as it wasn't the high-pitched 'birds' it was more like an electrical fault jolting my head from inside today, I took to the lounge and stayed there most of the day.
Hubby has had ringing in his ears for some time due to not wearing earmuffs at work while running machinery. I played the 'sounds of tinnitus' for him and he was stunned.

Hubby, AKA Mick, did manage to make me laugh though with this gem -

"At least you don't have the same sound every single day and can put it on shuffle."

A positive out of a negative? Gosh yes!

Being a Tinnitus sufferer like yourself, I can honestly say I know the feeling.  I'm getting worried because my worse days are getting more frequent and my "better" days are declining.  I'm beginning to wonder if this is a new trend and aging plays a role.  If so, I'm not looking forward to old age.  I was one cranky SOB yesterday, the noise was just unbearable.  Thanks for posting.

LOL!!!!

I never thought of it that way, now that makes it much better.

Thanks Suu for sharing.  So good to see you posting again, I've been thinking a lot about you lately.

Suu, tell Mick I wish I had a manual shuffle instead of this "random play" I deal with. Of course I would hate to get stuck in a rut with the same ole sound every day. But then again maybe I could get used to the same sound and learn to cancel it out or ignore it. Life goes on and treatments started today.
