Good news for Laz
« on: February 26, 2012, 08:16:52 pm »
Two and a half years post radiation treatment on my AN that had re-grown following surgery, my AN has not grown any more.

This is what the radiation treatment is designed to do so at this point, I'm quite pleased. Would have been better if the growth had shrunk a bit but hey. beggars can't be choosers.

The plan is for a MRI in 12 months and then every two years.

Yea Laz,

So glad that there is now new growth and that prayerfully they have arrested that intruder, may he die a timely death! Oh, I am out of character, right now, huh?  Guess I can blame my nerves since I face the tomb of gloom next sunday!
All the best of blessings to you Laz,

Laz ~

I'll get right to the point: congratulations! :)

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Congratulations, Laz! I know you had a tough row to hoe for awhile there, when the regrowth was first discovered. I'm thrilled to find out your radiation treatment was successful.

Best wishes,

Hi all, been a while but thought I'd give an update. I recently had my regular 12 month MRI and after 3.5 years now (post CK treatment), my AN has not grown. I am so happy that I decided to have radiation treatment.

cheers

Hi, Laz:

I've been off the forum for the past month, so I'm just now getting around to reading this. I'm so happy your CK treatments have been a success. Congratulations!

Best wishes,

Wonderful news
1st AN surgery @ age 23, 16 hours
Loss of 7-10th nerves
mulitple "plastic" repairs to compensate for effects of 7th nerve loss
tumor regrowth, monitored for a few years then surgically removed @ age 38 (of my choice, not medically necessary yet)
