Good news to report
« on: September 12, 2011, 01:16:56 pm »
Hello to all,

I have great news to report. I just had my 6 months MRI checkup for my Cyberknife radiosurgery done beginning of March. The neurosurgeon, radiologist and radio oncologist inform me that the tumour is significantly smaller and is barley apparent on the MRI. Only a small hallow have been notice. The middle is now dark. He said I was lucky that my 6 months result showed some very good outcome; sometimes they don't notice any difference after 6 months. Maybe the fact that my tumour was very small help…maybe not and that is the hard thing with radiation, it is a waiting process and we don't know the outcome soon enough. I was in chock but this time in GOOD chock! I didn't expect something like that after 6 months! I will have another MRI in 6 months to look at the outcome after 1 year. On another subject, I just got my BAHA BP100 and I love it. It is helping me a lot and I feel more secure when I'm having a conversation with background noise and a lot of other situations. So beside a box on my head (colour champagne witch is very cool), a big small on my face and no other symptom to report I am feeling myself for the first time in almost 3 years! This challenge change me for ever but I am happy to report to all newbies that there is light after the tunnel! ;D

Wow Valerie, this is terrific. I am so happy for you. This is the best outcome that one can expect from radiosurgery and in your case the results are obvious very soon. Way to go.
Well, I guess this calls for real champagne (to match with your champagne baha box).

Valerie ~

Thanks for sharing your very good news with us!  Enjoy the champagne, both the real thing and the BAHA version.  :)

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

I'm a BAHA enthusiast myself so I was especially glad to read you like your BP100.
