Three Days Till Surgery
« on: May 30, 2006, 07:42:51 pm »
Time is counting down. I fly out tomorrow for L.A. and have surgery on Friday at HEI. I am actually quite nervous, more so than I thought I would be. I know I have made the right decision, and I am not second guessing myself. I just am a little worried about the outcome. Docs give me a 60% chance of retaining hearing in AN ear with Middle Fossa. So my outlook is good, but I am nervous still. I guess that is normal. I am more worried about the other possible complications, IE facial nerve, vertigo, etc. I know that whatever the outcome, I will make the best of it. I am not one to give up.
I will let everyone know how it turns out.

Thanks, Danny

Good luck Danny -

All of your feelings are normal.  The unknown is always scary.  I even wrote all my PIN numbers down in case I couldn't remember anything!!

Will be thinking of you,  Kathy

Everything will be okay.  But you have a right to be nervous. It's not everyday that somebody goes poking around inside your head!!  But they do it all the time, so it's no big deal to them. That's the important part.  Good luck. The gang here will be wanting to hear about your recovery.

Danny sending you warm thoughts and lots of prayers your way.  Just look at how well Karla faired last week at house.  You'll be just fine!  Being scared or nervous is understandable....I also saved my pin numbers and needed them after surgery  LOL

Best of luck!

Danny-our best thoughts and good vibes are with you--you are in GREAT hands. If you get this before your surgery, who is doing it? If it's Dr. Friedman, tell him Deborah the hiker girl, alias jungle girl says "HEY!" and give Dr. Hits a big smooch as a thank you for saving my face! (Actually, a handshake'll do!)

Best of Luck
