1 year anniversary
« on: September 24, 2010, 05:19:13 pm »
Today is my one year post op anniversary! I had my MRI last night and am waiting for the results. Hooray for me!  Now if only the headaches would disappear, I would truly be celebrating. Thank you to all my fellow forumites for getting me through many rough days, without you guys I don't think I would have made it! :) :)

Lauren ~

Although every AN anniversary is important, I think the first one is especially so.  On that note, I offer you my sincere congratulations and a hope that your headaches will soon abate.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Yesss! Congrats on the one year!!! I am also sorry you've been experiencing the headaches.  I kind of do an mental poll as I read these posts and it seems roughly half the people who go through surgery get lasting headaches afterwards...would be interesting to break that down to see which type of procedure causes it more, or if that's even a factor...anyways, here's wishing you get a clean MRI and you find relief for them headaches! Take care!

Thank you everyone for your good thoughts! My MRI is clear- hooray, although part of me was hoping it would show a reason for my headaches. I have an appt. in 2 weeks at a new headache center, so wish me good luck. Neal- I had retro-sigmoid surgery, which I believe puts patients at higher risk for post op headaches.
