2 year MRI
« on: September 08, 2010, 11:04:21 am »
Hi there,
I am just popping in to say hi . I am having my 2 yr post CK MRI next week. A weird thing happened though. I received a letter from Salt Lake Cyberknife about a month ago, letting me know they are closing their clinic. I panicked. All these things running through my head... why.. did they do something wrong, are they being sued.. a lot of confusion. I have called the drs and have not gotten a good answer. Thus I am hoping that this MRI shows alot of Necrosis and death to the tumor. This just kind of has me ruffled... Anyone heard anything about any clinics closing or other issues with Cyberknife?

Sher -

have heard nothing about Cyberknife clinics closing so I can't help you there.

Good luck on your MRI - hope it shows necrosis.

Keep us posted,

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways

Like Jan, I've not heard anything about Cyberknife clinics closing.  I hope your MRI brings good news

Sherry ~

I suspect the Salt lake City CK unit is closing due to financial problems - but I was unable to verify that.  Their website is down, probably permanently.  I would guess that this closing is entirely a local issue and does not reflect on facilities performing the CyberKnife procedure in the rest of the country.  Were this a systemic problem, I think it would be national news.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
