Got the go-ahead from insurance on my BAHA
« on: August 16, 2010, 11:21:14 am »
I'm pretty excited. It took a month and a half (which I know isn't really that long).

I go in Sept 2nd. I'm really hoping this meants I get to use my processor before Christmas.

I know others are have SSD and deal with it everyday without complaint. For me, dealing with the SSD has been more frustrating than any other aspect of the original surgery. It's so isolating not being able to hear properly. I struggle significantly at work to hear my employees. After surgery, people forget and don't understand why your hearing hasn't returned, no matter how many times you explain it's permanent.

anyhow, needless to say I'm tickled pink.
Right ear, 3.5 cm  Diagnosed 3-23-10 pre-op symptoms: 90% loss of hearing, headaches, Tinnitus.
Translab surgery 5-18-10
Post-op symptoms: SSD, Tinnitus, wonky-head
BAHA implant: 9-2-10

Tracy Lynn ~

Congratulations!  I'm confident the BAHA will make a huge improvement in your hearing ability and, by association, your quality of life.

This is VERY exciting news!!!

It took me five months to get insurance approval, so I envy you.

Please PM me your mailing address so I can send you one of Lori & Jan's Official BAHA Recovery Kits.  It's free and has gotten rave reviews  ;)

Jan
