Doc just called and talked to Eric because my back kept me from sleeping all night.  I hate to be a drama queen but.....ta da! I have thyroid cancer!  Ain't that just great!  Already had my freak-out meltdown and now I'm doing my research.  Doc's gonna go back in and take entire thyroid plus God knows what else!  Don't know what else to say...........

Capt Deb,
Wow you poor thing, well at least they found it and will be treating you.  I'm so sorry you are dealing with yet another health problem.  Hopefully you won't have to disrupt too much of the tissues surrounding the thyroid, but I just did a quick google search and learned in most cases its highly treatable.  Thank God!!! Try to stay positive about it, but please keep in touch about your diagnosis and treatment.
Hang in there Capt, sending cyber hugs your way XXXXXXXXX

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

That's crazy - you have been thru WAY more than enough!  I'm so sorry. I hope that it can be as quick & easy as possible. Like Lizard said, it is usually VERY treatable. Know you are in my thoughts & prayers...

Captain -

sorry about this news, but you're a trooper (and then some) and I'm confident you'll get through this.

One of my older sisters had her thyroid removed (due to thyroid cancer) a few years ago and she's doing very well.

Kisses  :-* and prayers to you,

So sorry to hear about your new medical adventures! I also know that thyroid cancer is highly treatable. My neighbor had it a few years ago and is absolutely fine now.

           Sending you best wishes,

Deb (or should I say Job).....

As they say, aging isn't for sissies, but you have had WAY more than your share of trials and tribulations along the way ..... at far too young of an age.  (Not funny, but I first typed fart too young and corrected it!   :-*)

Hugs and kisses and lots of prayers for a complete cure.

Deb ~

I'm so sorry to learn about this latest health issue you're facing but by now, I'm sure you've learned that thyroid cancer is quite treatable with thyroid removal and follow-up thyroid hormones, possibly some radiation, depending on the situation.  I trust that your prognosis is excellent and you'll surmount this latest, unwanted and undeserved challenge to your well-being.  Of course, you'll be in the thoughts and prayers of many as you deal with this situation so you'll never be fighting it, alone.  I know you'll keep us all informed as you deal with this.  By the way, you're far from being a drama queen, Deb.  A doughty Captain, yes, but never a drama queen.  :)

Jim

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
