radiation
« on: February 05, 2010, 01:40:30 pm »
Just got back from an hour appt with my new radiologist...This afternoon's MRI will be the deciding factor.  If Booger has grown since last MRI in Oct/09..then one shot radiation will be scheduled in roughly four weeks. I go back for MRI results on Feb 26/10....So Feb 26 will be THE DAY...stay in wait and watch or have the little invader zapped.  Since my usual hearing is gone, we dont have to doi the  25 fractionated radiation.  I also found out that it can be zapped twice if need be.  Now to sit and wait for result that will take 3 weeks to get to doc....Decision has been made, now wait to know which fork in the road I will be taking on Feb 26.

Jo ~

Our hopes and prayers as well as crossed fingers will be in play as you await the MRI results.  Hey, it can't hurt.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

good luck to you!!  my AN was treated with gamma knife in April 2009.  I'm hoping for shrinkage when I go for my next MRI in April- my symptoms have been diminishing over the past year so I take that as a good sign.
