Hearing lasted a while, but left side is deaf now.
Right side is weak too. Life is quiet.

I did indeed. At about age 10, I made an effort to have my birthday celebrated on June 26th, in hopes of getting more presents that way. Alas, it never caught on.

However, as I got older, I found that having a birthday during the holiday season worked well, as people were gathered anyway for Christmas, so why not have a birthday party for Steve while you're at it. This year was no exception, and I had a chocolate cake surrounded by 3 generations of family singing me happy birthday.

The only thing better is this wonderful topic started and nurtured by DHM. Thank you Daisy, and thanks to all of you for your kind words and well wishes. May you all have equally nice birthdays in the coming year.
