Paper on Occipital Neuralgia
« on: November 20, 2009, 06:46:30 pm »
I was snooping around on the web and ran across this.  It has a lot of medspeak in it, but really explains a lot of my own symptoms.  A lot of good info on nerve blocks and Botox as well.

I also found two Occipital Neuralgia groups on facebook.

The latter has a lot of information about docs doing surgery and the Medtronic stimulator implant for this condition. Here are a few articles on the stimulator

Hey Karen!

Good to see you here.  Or rather, too bad I have to see you here, I should say.  Still in headache-land, huh?  That sucks.  I am having Botox in 5 weeks and can't wait!  Have you ever had an occipital nerve block?  They worked pretty good for me for a year, but the doc says no more cortisone in the noggin for a while.  Researching my options for a surgical cure at the moment. I think I've got some scar tissue that is irritating the nerves in my head.  Maybe I can find a doc that can untangle that mess!

Hig big hugs to the pups and the kids for me.
