Paul ~

Thanks for the link.  This University of Washington video does present an excellent overview of AN surgery.  Highly recommended for newbies and families of AN patients.

The comments on the YouTube site made no sense.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Jim,

There's a whole lot of references on Youtube regarding people who have recorded their AN experiences.

Here's a reference page.....

Paul .....

Thanks for sharing this link.  Although it was produced as a promo for the University of Washington medical center, it contains valuable information for any AN patient.  I found it very fascinating and informative.

Jim,

Your remark prompted me to read those comments. Wow. That Decibellphysics guy is out of his mind.

Thanks so much for sharing this video with us.  Even though I'm post surgery, I still learned a few things and think it would be very helpful to new patients.  I also saw a video at the ANA Conference this summer of the surgery and found it fascinating also.  Knowledge is power!

Denise
GK 5/06 at Mayo for small AN after balance and slight hearing issues.  Progressive hearing loss following GK.
3/09 - facial spasms began.  MRI shows tumor growth.
9/09 - MRI shows further growth.  "GK failure."  Translab 10/1/09 success!  BAHA 10/8/10.
