New members?
« on: December 09, 2006, 06:43:21 pm »
I wonder how many of our "new members" are Spambots? I've about had it with this site. The admin needs to give kick keys to about a dozen of us regulars so we can delete this crap. I hope the visual recognition software gets put on here soon and I hope it works. The oldest Spam on here has been up since 3AM this morning. That's over 16 hours.
Disgustedly,

Ya know, I haven't been on all day, and now I come to the site to find not just spam, but a ton of porn spam and no one is doing anything about it.  I guess my only choice is to remind everyone that all these thread topics are available on MSUScottie's site, patient-network.com, and maybe ANA will finally wake up and do something about it when we all disappear.  We can have all the same serious and not so serious discussions over there, and fill that site's knowledge base, and there's NO spam there.

I'm ready to drop out and "go professional."  This other stuff is just plain, silly.  I didn't go to college for this stuff.   :'(

I would hope that the newbys would see that there are some of us are really sencer about what is going on and still post their thread here.. let them know that we are here for them. not leave just because a few want ot spoil it for the ones that really need this site.. What will the rest of us do if the good ones leave..Please stay,,,just dont read or look at those post, that is what they want ..so dont mention them..we have come to far ..dont stop now....

Just who is the admin on this site? What does it take to asign some regulars as moderators and get this cleaned up?? I hate spam, of any kind, but leaving ehre won't be the solution either. Think of all of those that do need the information, and support and contacts. Going somewhere else and making that other site popular will just give them somewhere else to spam. At the moment it's free becuase it probably gets less hits. This is hugely active, so gets swamped with spamers. The solution is simple, get moderators.

Admin, are you listening?

I'm a new guy with NF and AN's. My favorite NF site has  been getting hit far worse than this for some time now. I don't let it get to me, I just ignore the headings I think might be spam. Eventually both places will figure a way to stop it, but like the old saying..Build a better mouse trap and they will build a better mouse. At least at the NF site I know most of the names, so even with sorta innocent headings I can spot the phonies. Here, I don't hang out enough to recognise more than just a few people. I won't be leaving though. I get fgood info here and life is too short to stress about things like spam.  ;D

I actually was-and still am on a smaller site-with no SPAM but people stopped talking on the old group. So I came over here and have enjoyed input from all. I agree this SPAM really has me disgusted-especially the PORN. What kind of scum bag would put that on a medical site anyway. When I first saw it my eyes dropped. I do not need this and neither do the rest of us. However I agree with the statement above. The SPAMERS will always find a way to get through. If we just do not acknowledge it-maybe they will figure out this is not the site to post. I hope people do not leave this site because of 1% of people who have NO SENSE OF DIGNITY AND RESPECT FOR OTHERS. However-if other's move to SCott's SITE-SO WILL i. I hope for now the administrators will take note and ban this crap from our site.. Ron

We shouldn't have to leave because of some spamers. If admin would jsut respond to requests and nominate some of the regulars as Moderators, that would solve the problem. It works on other sites, why not here? I don't look at the stuff, and ignore in general, but it is tedious having to go through all the bunf to get the interesting topics.

Admin: DO SOMETHING!!!! You have a whole bunch of disgruntled people here!!!!
