Hi Anissa,

We hope you had an uneventful ride home today, and that your able to get some much needed rest.

Scarlett's parents and two of her siblings spent most of the afternoon visiting shortly after we got her home.  She was wiped out by the end of the day.

All our wishes for a speedy recovery,

Rich & Scarlett

P.S. Chris, thank you, it was really nice of you to give us the play by play while your pacing the floor, and the updates that followed. :)

Anissa,

Once a mother always a mother :)  I understand your hesitations about going home.  Your children are still very young and need mommy.  I'm sure with your husband support the transition will be smooth.  Listen to your body, when it says "enough, I need to rest" you rest.

The house work, the laundry and meals can all wait.  The hugs, kisses and big smiles from your babies are going to help the healing process.

Be well,
Anne Marie

Hi folks!  Just wanted to post an update on my recovery.  I can't believe its been so long since I posted about it!  I was so glad that I went home, leaving the hospital was the best thing I could have done for my morale and my recovery!!  Here is the excerpt from my blog:

I can’t believe its almost been two weeks since surgery! Life is starting to come around again and I am so thankful for that. Chris took the last two weeks off work (week of surgery and first week home) and went back in the afternoons only this week. My mom has been here most every day during the week to help with the housework. Friends are still dropping meals off each day and I can’t tell you what a huge blessing that is. I’m still not driving although I think I’m getting close to trying. The constant pain has dwindled and I’m down to one pain pill at night to help me sleep and ibuprofen during the day. I still have some cobwebs in my head, by that I mean dizzy and tired, but I’m starting to get used to it and am doing a bit more. My scar is starting to look good and my hair is coming in again. Its amazing what two weeks will do.

Here's Chris & I

That's unbelievable.  You have amazing healing powers!  I'm a week tomorrow and still pretty gory looking from my scar photo.
You are a beautiful woman, and you have this behind you.
I'm happy for you.

Nancy, the scar heals so fast!  Its almost kind of sad because I went through a lot for it.  Every person that has come into my house has had to see it, ha ha!

Nice! Two weeks, all better. :)

The scar will probably heal up completely before you do. Some people report that at three weeks, the recovery seems to slow down, just when it was getting good, and it can be a little disappointing. But it sounds like you are doing fine, and the rest of the discomfort and cobwebs will get better, even if you have to wait for it.

Best wishes to you and Chris.

Whoa!  Even today, 6 weeks out of surgery, my scar doesn't look nearly that healed.  Just today I was getting some pinkish oozing from a small part of it, but it looks like some hair might be growing into it?  Hard to say.

Also, I have much less hair regrowing where they did the surgery.  I'll have to get another picture soon to post.

Huh?  That's the first I've heard of that, Steve.  Great, now I really won't be able to get to sleep.
May be time to bake muffins.   ;D

Steve!  See what you've done?  Now I'm gonna have to jump on a plane, fly to New Hampshire, and help her eat those muffins!

Anissa and Chris,

Hi!  So glad to see the pic, you both look great!
Who would ever guess you had brain surgery, Anissa?
I hope your healing continues - and just hug those babies, they grow up WAY too fast!

Hijack - Nancy:  Muffins, i want homemade muffins!
May i suggest you TAKE the muffins to Ernie - those warm Florida breezes - maybe you can write off the trip on your insurance as post 'treatment!'
(Like have PT or VT, LOL!)
And i will be happy to come help you carry the muffins southward!

Anissa,

You look so good!  The scar looks really good.  My son was dying to go to Wal-Mart yesterday so I took him.  We made it home safe and sound.  I was a little worried because of my eye and drove most of the time with my finger over the bad one.  It was nice to drive again though.  I am so glad you have had so much help in your recovery.  Nothing like family!  Tara

Anissa -

incredibly beautiful scar   ;D  Mine healed fast, but not that fast  :o

Great picture of you and Chris - you're looking very good for someone who had AN surgery recently.

Tara -

muffin hijack - it's so nice up here this week, i'm not leavin' for anywhere!
I am getting really nervous about driving.  I totally relate to going around with a finger holding my eye down.  Did we have the same surgery?  ;D   Going out to get an eye patch in a few minutes and a box of thank you notes.  I get stitches out on Monday, too, can't wait.  Sorry my hair will still be gross at the brunch, Guys.
